SWIFT Verrucae Treatment

Introducing Swift® Microwave Therapy for Warts and Verrucae

Struggling to treat painful or long standing Verruca?
Developed in the UK, Swift microwave technology is an exciting next generation verruca treatment. At AJB Footcare we are amongst only a handful of clinics in the UK to offer this treatment.

What is Swift?
Swift is a brand new concept that uses microwave energy to treat verruca’s in a very controlled and precise way. It is one of the most effective treatments for verrucae available. Treatment only usually takes five applications of a 2 second duration per verruca. There may be some discomfort which subsides quickly.

How does it work?
Microwave energy is delivered directly to the site of the verruca using a hand-held probe. To find out more about Swift Microwave therapy here, www.treatverruca.com

It sends microwaves to a precise and predetermined depth leaving surrounding tissue undamaged. It targets water molecules within the skin creating heat which destroys the infected cells. As microwaves travel to a pre-determined depth, they don’t break the surface of the skin and destroy tissue from the point of application – unlike Cryotherapy, Salicylic Acid or Laser, find out more about Swift Microwave therapy here, www.treatverruca.com

Currently the most effective treatment available
Anyone who has suffered with or treated verruca will know that treatment success is not guaranteed, therefore it seems reasonable to use the most effective treatment you can.

The published data for the Swift microwave system would indicate that success rates are higher than many treatments historically available (the published study information is available)  you can find out more about Swift Microwave therapy here, www.treatverruca.com”

THE most convenient treatment available
No dressings usually required – as microwaves do not break the surface of the skin, there is no requirement for post-procedural padding or dressings therefore no need to keep the area dry. (Have you ever had to try to keep your feet dry in the bath/shower with other treatments, not easy is it!)

No need for any anaesthetic.

No need for constant application of acids.

No need for constant visits to clinic.

Patients can return to normal daily activity as soon as they walk out of the door.

HOW MANY VISITS?
On average for most patients 2/3 treatments are required. Longstanding or very resistant verruca may require further treatment.

WHAT TO EXPECT!
The most common question is understandably, DOES IT HURT?

Like many treatments for skin lesions, some minor discomfort may be experienced.  Pain levels vary from person to person but most people undergoing Swift , are treated in 2 second bursts and may experience a degree of pain, however this quickly subsides following the application. Compare this to other treatments such as Cryotherapy, and remember no need for local anaesthetics.

The Swift head is wide enough to treat larger verrucas in these cases we apply with a series of overlapping applications.

In the days following treatment the verrucas will change colour, go dark and may look like a bruise this not normally associated with any pain.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
The cost is £285 this includes the first two treatments. If additional treatments are required they will be charged at £85 for the third treatment then £65 per treatment thereafter( if more are required) .
